BMF Motorcycle Show previews in Peterborough this Saturday

Organisers of Europe’s largest outdoor motorcycle show will be staging a preview event in Peterborough city centre on Saturday 4 May 2013, from 9:30am until 5pm.

Shoppers and motorcycle fans will get a taste of what is in store at the 38th BMF Show, which takes place at the Peterborough Arena from 17 to 19 May.

The city centre will host a mix of motorcycle dealerships, trade exhibitors and Riders for Health, who will be giving people the chance to win a trip to Africa. Also in attendance will be biking nomads Maggie and Norman MaGowan, who gave up their nine ‘til five lives to embark on a motorcycling journey through the Americas. The bikes they rode will be on display and the couple will be signing copies of their books in Waterstones, who will be offering twenty per cent off all motorbike books with a flyer available at the event.

In addition, motorcyclists will be able to buy tickets for the BMF Show at discounted prices for one day only and Bauer Media will be giving away 500 copies of Motorcycle News.

Local motorcycle clubs including Total Vision, Peterborough Bikes & Trikes Club, Harley Owners Club, the Ducati Owners Club, Peterborough Motorcycle Club and Whittlesea MCC and Tri-County Custom Club will also be exhibiting, together with CAM Rider and Cambridgeshire Police’s motorcycle unit.

Food businesses including Nandos, McDonalds, La Petite 4, Cornish Delight, Greggs, Cathedral Square Diner and Margaret’s Tea Room will be offering special deals and discounts for exhibiting motorcyclists with vouchers available from the central BMF Shows stand on Cathedral Square. Specsavers will also be performing free eye tests for motorcyclists with an on-the-day voucher.

Head of Commercial Operations at Peterborough City Council, Annette Joyce said:

“The BMF is an extremely popular event that has a long association with our city and we are pleased to be working with its organisers to showcase what visitors can expect at this year’s show. We have had a great response from city centre businesses that are supporting the event on Saturday and we hope there will be something for everyone to enjoy on the day.”

Martin Chick, Managing Director of BMF Show organisers, The Mulberry Group, said:

“Saturday’s preview event will give everyone a flavour of what can be seen at the BMF Show later this month. We’ve had fantastic support from all corners of the motorcycling fraternity who are looking forward to exhibiting at the preview event.

The BMF Show is attracting more and more non-motorcycling visitors each year and many of them eventually become owners of two wheels. Saturday’s event is all about promoting the benefits of motorcycle and scooter ownership and I’m looking forward to spending the day in good company.”
